Going That Way (GTW) is a peer to peer platform where people that require an item to be transported are able to upload the item, pickup and delivery addresses and amount of money they are prepared to pay for the item to be transported.
The user logs onto the platform, and creates their account, adding personal details including Name, address, email, mobile phone and credit card details (all secured and checked). When this user uploads an item to be transported he will identify pickup and delivery addresses, dates and times required for each and amount of money he is prepared to pay for this transport. Credit card details are checked by “Stripe” who handle all monetary transactions.
People who are travelling are able to log onto the platform and search for items that require transportation in the area they are travelling (Going That Way). The traveller (carrier) applies for the job, a notification sent to the sender and if happy selects the carrier (another notification), this triggers the money identified by the sender to be locked on the credit card.
The carrier picks up the items and updates status’ along the way to deliver the item/s (ensuing notifications). Both the carrier and sender are able to communicate through SMS, email and phone through the app once the carrier has been confirmed by the sender.
When the delivery is completed the carrier takes photos of the item in situ which are sent to the sender, who will confirm job completion. Then through “Stripe” the payment is affected to both the carrier (80%) and GTW admin (20% less Stripe transaction fee).
